Why I Created Membership Services

For much of my life, I’ve struggled with something that I rarely heard others admit: the difficulty of fully enjoying artwork just by looking at it.

Even after taking numerous art history classes in college, that feeling persisted. I learned about styles, movements, and visual analysis—but something always felt missing. It wasn’t until I began reflecting more deeply that I realized what I had been searching for all along: the inner world of the artist.

We don’t truly appreciate flowers just because they’re beautiful. We appreciate them more when we understand the seed, the soil, the seasons of growth they endured. The same is true for food—it’s not only flavor, but the process, the labor, the story behind it that gives it meaning. Art, I’ve come to believe, is no different.

Visiting galleries, I often felt a disconnect between what was on the wall and what was hidden behind it. Paintings, however masterful, can only offer a glimpse into the deeper stories, emotions, and experiences that shaped them. Our ability to interpret and connect with a piece is shaped by our own knowledge and emotions—which I fully respect—but I also feel that without access to the artist’s voice, much remains unseen.

I began this project out of a desire to bridge that gap. To bring technology into the service of storytelling. To help artists—many of whom aren’t familiar with the digital world—share not just their artwork, but the life that gave rise to it: their childhoods, their relationship with nature, the emotional and mental landscapes they traverse, the life events that changed them.

To me, an artist’s work is a map of connected moments, a constellation of experience and meaning. I don’t see this as a business—I see it as a mission. One I feel called to: to listen, to translate, to preserve and present.

This site is my way of honoring that mission. To make visible not just the art, but the artist.
